Everything you need to know about our alliance
Common Questions, Clear Answers
Is there any cost to join the LWA?
Becoming a member is free of charge.
However, there is an initial setup fee to integrate your office into the LWA, as well as a minimum annual fee that provides access to services such as the global management platform, the corporate email system, the corporate website, the Lamaignere intranet, and a range of marketing materials and resources.
What benefits does the agreement offer?
One of the main benefits of joining the LWA is increased global business opportunities at both the local and international levels, driven by a shared and recognizable global brand.
In addition, the agreement is designed to foster collaboration among Alliance members, creating new business opportunities and ultimately delivering better results for every member.
I find the project interesting and would like to become part of it. Can I join the LWA?
Our main focus is on partnering with independent customs brokers and freight forwarders with annual revenues between USD 3 million and USD 5 million and a minimum of five years of operating experience.
What conditions must I meet as an independent customs broker or freight forwarder to become part of the LWA?
To join the LWA, a company should be a small or medium-sized freight forwarder operating primarily in its home country, regardless of the number of offices it may have.
Having international offices in other countries is also an advantage, provided there is no existing LWA member in those markets or the current member agrees to the operation of an additional office outside the scope of the agreement.
Will I be the only LWA member in my country?
Yes. The LWA works with only one freight forwarder member in each country.
How important is the location where I operate?
We consider applications from all over the world. However, priority is given to countries where established business opportunities and bilateral trade flows already exist between origin and destination markets.
Can I work with companies that are not part of the LWA?
The main objective of the LWA is to create new business opportunities among its members by increasing their visibility, reach, and international presence.
However, members are not required to work exclusively with other LWA members.
How is this collaboration agreement different from a franchise?
A franchise typically requires the franchisee to operate within a business model established by the brand, often involving royalty payments, marketing fees, and other associated costs.
In contrast, Lamaignere does not interfere with the business strategy or management decisions of its members. Each member remains fully independent and free to manage and grow its business while benefiting from the support, visibility, and strength of the Lamaignere Worldwide Alliance.
How long has the LWA project been operating?
The Lamaignere Group was founded more than 100 years ago and has a well-established brand presence in Spain. LWA was formed in 2019 and currently has more than 30 offices spread across 14 countries.
What is the duration of the collaboration agreement?
The LWA agreement is valid for a minimum initial term of 3 years from the date of signature and is automatically renewed upon expiration unless either party requests its termination.
Can the agreement be terminated before the end of the five-year period?
The agreement may only be terminated if the terms and conditions established in the contract are not fulfilled.
Can my company be part of the LWA and also belong to other alliances?
Being part of the LWA is fully compatible with membership in other alliances and associations, including WCA, FIATA, and similar organizations.
Will I have to change my company name?
Members are expected to adopt the Lamaignere brand in their country, either as “Lamaignere + Country” or through an agreed co-branding formula that combines the Lamaignere name with their existing identity.
While the local entrepreneur retains full ownership and management control, operating under a shared brand is an essential part of building a truly global organisation.
